Formally educated in the Capital District of NY. I started off as a Chemical Engineer but (barely) have a degree in Computer Science. I have almost half a master's degree that I'm sure will not be finished until next time I'm unhappy/bored at work. As of now, I don't see that day coming.
Spent 6 years (almost to the day) living in the DC area in Arlington VA for the first 3 years and Washington DC for the later 3 years and working in the suburbs for tech companies. I will not fix your computer for you. It scares me how long I spent there and how quickly it went. I have had some insane experiences there, and made and lost some of the best friends of my life.
I have been a resident of Vancouver BC for 9 months. I have spent almost 200,000 miles with my butt in an airplane seat in one year. I then moved to Dublin, Ireland for 9 months. I had a gorgeous apartment in the city center with a view of the Liffey from my amazing balcony. I learned colorful phrases, the joy of directions without addresses, and to love public transportation. I think I miss it every day.
I've been shipped back to Vancouver for the duration. In theory I "live" on the east coast of the US, but I'm almost never in my bed of record. I know way too much about frequent traveller programs, the idiocy of the TSA, and the difference between a law and an airline guideline for bumps when flying in the US.
I work for a great, small(ish), privately held software company. The people I work for and with are amazing.
My life is highly complex, difficult to explain, and while it has inherent annoyances, is pretty close to everything I could ask for. I am a lucky, lucky girl.
